We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join a Tier 1 Bank's high-performing Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance scalable software solutions that support business, platform, and technology capabilities for both customers and internal users. Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will apply modern engineering practices to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering, to gather requirements and deliver well-aligned solutions
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and solution design strategies
  • Take part in code reviews and champion best practices around code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure solutions are secure, performant, and maintainable by adhering to established engineering standards
  • Develop and implement testing strategies that improve code reliability and quality
  • Keep pace with emerging technologies and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Core Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tooling (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Helm, GitLab)
  • Background working in DevSecOps environments, including embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle
  • AWS experience is essential

This is a permanent position based in Manchester, offering hybrid working with two days per week in the office.
