Head of Quality Control Operations

Summary of job purpose

• Lead Quality Control Operations for the Alnwick Site, including QC Analytical and QC microbiology disciplines.
• Ensure Safe, Compliant, and Efficient Quality Operations.
• Ensure timely delivery of customer projects.
• Provide SME for the successful and compliant resolution of issues.

Qualifications and experience required for competent performance

• BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Significant experience in operations management, preferably within GxP/GxP facing roles, preferably within pharmaceuticals/CDMO environment.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to inspire, motivate, and develop colleagues.
• Proven capability for defining and monitoring relevant metrics and driving continuous improvements to ensure first-class operational performance.
• Significant experience working with customer, commercial, finance, HR, and compliance teams.
• Flexible approach to new work challenges.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Active development of a Safe, Compliant, and Cost-conscious culture.
• Develop and maintain operational capacity of the quality control department in line with budgets and business plans, including:

• Human resources
• Capital equipment (existing, future needs)
• Management of Short/Mid-term scheduling

• Training and development agenda
• Succession planning
• Recruitment and onboarding
