Lead Quality Control Operations for the Alnwick Site, including QC Analytical and QC microbiology disciplines. Ensure Safe, Compliant, and Efficient Quality Operations. Ensure timely delivery of customer projects. Provide SME for the successful and compliant resolution of issues.

Qualifications and experience required for competent performance:

  • BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Significant experience in operations management, preferably within GxP/GxP facing roles, preferably within pharmaceuticals/CDMO environment.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to inspire, motivate, and develop colleagues.
  • Proven capability for defining and monitoring relevant metrics and driving continuous improvements to ensure first-class operational performance.
  • Significant experience working with customer, commercial, finance, HR, and compliance teams.
  • Flexible approach to new work challenges.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Active development of a Safe, Compliant, and Cost-conscious culture.
  • Develop and maintain operational capacity of the quality control department in line with budgets and business plans, including: Human resources, Capital equipment (existing, future needs), Management of Short/Mid-term scheduling.
  • Active management, training, and development of the human resources within the department including driving: Training and development agenda, Succession planning, Recruitment and onboarding.
  • Deliver customer projects successfully through the provision of QC support.
  • Provide team with SME and leadership support in all aspects of Quality Control operations including timely and compliant resolution of issues.
  • Support Business Development in winning new business.
  • Develop and maintain continuous improvement roadmap for the department.
