Accountable for all aspects of realisation of our Go To Market strategy for our Arcinova, including managing current commercial customers and driving both new client acquisition and expansion of existing customer relationships for Arcinova to ensure delivery of Gross Order Intake and growth in our customer base.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Accountable for achieving sales targets; whilst Gross Order Intake (GOI) is a critical measure, this is also balanced with profitability and expansion of the customer base.
  • Development of a pipeline of opportunities at different stages in the funnel is considered essential to successful delivery of targets.
  • Responsible for executing against the sales process from lead generation to contract close, delivered via close working relationships with marketing, BD counterparts, scientific consultancy, legal and project management.
  • Development of cohesive, action-driven account and territory plans, ensuring a close understanding of where opportunities lie for Arcinova and the most opportunistic time to have discussions.
  • The role requires a high level of travel for face-to-face client meetings, conferences and seminars.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and develop tactics to adapt our offering to ensure we are competitively positioned and differentiated where possible.
  • Work closely with site leadership to understand forecasts and future revenue streams.
  • Clear, consistent communication with key stakeholders (internal and external) is critical to the role.
  • At an appropriate stage, it is anticipated that a more junior BD would be recruited by and reporting to this role.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Educated to at least first-degree level.
  • 5+ years of experience in the CDMO sector with recent, demonstrable success in services across biotech and pharma sectors.
  • Ability to translate the client’s implied needs into a programme of work with advantageous commercial terms.
  • A current, fluent knowledge of the marketplace, clients, and competitors.
  • A high level of connectivity among decision makers and influencers across the territory.
  • Self-starter, motivated with a hunger for new business and a “can do” attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • This role is to be home-based servicing UK and Nordics, with an expectation of significant travel to visit customers.
