An opportunity has arisen for two Senior Manufacturing Scientists to join our team at our Alnwick site. You will be responsible for dispensing, manufacturing and packaging of clinical products in accordance with GMP requirements and company procedures.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead the manufacture and packaging of oral and intravenous clinical products, with a focus on aseptic manufacturing.
- Prepare and complete documentation associated with the manufacture and supply of clinical products.
- Dispense APIs, excipients, drug products, IMPs and packaging materials for clinical use and maintain GMP stocks as required.
- Participate in the cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of the GMP manufacturing facility, utilities and equipment.
- Help manage the manufacturing equipment maintenance, calibration and servicing programme.
- Ensure appropriate communication of manufacturing activities to the Project Lead.
- Help plan and conduct process development studies or the manufacture of non-clinical batches in the development of clinical formulations or the transfer of developed formulations into the GMP facility.
- Participate in the upkeep of the GMP material inventory including ordering, goods receipt, storage and stock control, liaising as appropriate with the Quality Control and microbiology teams and Purchasing officer.
- Line manage a small team of Manufacturing Scientists.
- Work with due regard to health and safety of self and others.
- Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have two to three years experience in the manufacture of clinical formulations and working in a GMP regulated facility/manner and some knowledge of the drug development process. You will also have a BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline. Good written and oral communication skills and a flexible approach to new work challenges are essential.
