Are you a highly ambitious, strategic leader within the defence sector, looking for a unique opportunity to shape and grow a new business area from the ground up? We are partnered with a well-established provider of full life-cycle engineering services, experts in transforming infrastructures across various markets, driving new technology and innovation to meet modern day challenges and adapt at scale. This is a high-impact role focused on developing advisory and analytics capabilities within the Defence sector and building a future-focused portfolio.
This role is about more than project delivery; it involves driving business development with expert delivery to help shape and grow a new advisory business leveraging data science and AI to address critical market gaps. The successful candidate will build on an existing defence footprint and grow a new, high-growth advisory business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of advisory and analytics capabilities in the Defence sector and build a future-focused portfolio.
- Drive business development and opportunity capture, generating new opportunities, developing solutions, and closing deals.
- Deliver expert project execution while shaping and expanding the business area from the ground up.
- Leverage existing defence sector presence (equipment and maintenance) to enhance and scale the new advisory offering, including data science and AI applications for logistics and related challenges.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and partners to build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Travel as required across the UK, with visits to London, Manchester, and Birmingham offices; be in London a couple of times per month.
Qualifications / Candidate Profile
- Defence Market Expertise: Strong, pre-existing understanding of the Defence market and experience delivering into this sector.
- Asset Management and Digital Advisory: Experience in asset management, digital advisory, data science, and operational technology (OT).
- Proven Business Acumen: Track record of business development and project delivery, with ability to generate opportunities, develop solutions, and close deals.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proactive, creative, and willing to take ownership of business growth; capable of pursuing both tactical projects and larger strategic initiatives.
- Relationship-Driven: Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and partners to build strong collaborative relationships.
- Location & Travel: UK-wide operation with willingness to travel; ability to work from London, Manchester, and Birmingham offices and to be in London periodically.
