Responsibilities
- As part of our SQL team, provide DBA support to managed service clients and, as confidence grows, participate in database consultancy projects.
- Resolve database support requests from managed service clients.
- Proactively monitor and respond to automated SQL alerts.
- Carry out SQL Server performance reviews and tuning.
- Support and deliver database consulting projects as part of a team.
- Hands-on system administration including installs, upgrades, patching and fixes.
- Advanced troubleshooting, including working with Microsoft and other vendors.
- No two days are the same — variety and challenge are guaranteed.
What we’re looking for

Core skills & experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in SQL Server DBA support / administration.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience designing and building database server environments.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Awareness of Azure database technologies (Azure SQL, Synapse, Fabric).
- Exposure to other database platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- SSIS, SSAS and SSRS experience.
- Experience working in an IT Managed Services environment.
- Microsoft SQL Server or Azure certifications.
