Quorn Foods are recruiting for an Interim Legal Counsel to join our in‐house legal team on a 6 month fixed term contract.
This is an opportunity to join Quorn Foods as an Interim Legal Counsel, supporting the business through an important period of legal and governance development. Reporting into our General Counsel, you'll join a relatively new in‐house legal team and play a key role in helping to strengthen legal foundations across the organisation.
The primary focus of the role will be on commercial contracts, supporting the business with the review, updating and negotiation of supplier, sales, marketing and ICT agreements. You'll work closely with procurement to refresh template contracts, identify gaps across existing supplier and third‐party relationships, and put new agreements in place where required. You'll also help establish a central contract database to ensure improved visibility and governance across the business. Alongside this, there is scope to support the development and implementation of compliance policies, processes and training, including areas such as data protection and anti‐bribery, as well as contributing to wider business‐as‐usual legal activity as needed.
The position can be based flexibly with ad‐hoc and very occasional travel to our offices in Leeds.
What experience you'll need to have:
- Qualified solicitor or equivalent experience, with at least 3‐5 years' post‐qualification experience
- Demonstrable commercial focus and the ability to quickly understand the business drivers behind legal decisions
- Plain‐speaking and able to build relationships across all levels of the business, making legal advice accessible and practical
- Ideally present a background of operating in‐house, although this isn't essential
- A passion for healthy, sustainable products which are better for our consumers and the planet – you don't have to be a vegetarian to work for Quorn!
What you'll get in return:
- A Competitive Salary
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro‐rated for length of contract)
- Matched pension scheme & life assurance Cover
- Employee Assistance Programmes (we're a GroceryAid sponsor and run a range of annual initiatives to support colleague wellbeing)
- Access to other wellbeing schemes – discounted gym memberships, Digital GP services, eye tests, mortgage advice, and salary finance
- Free Quorn products on‐site to take home and share with your friends and family!
All suitably qualified applicants will be considered regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religion, or age.
