About to graduate and not quite sure what’s next? Or maybe you’ve thought about working in a school but don't know where to start? Quokka Education is supporting a number of well-regarded secondary schools across North Hampshire including areas such as Basingstoke, Hook, Fleet, Alton and Farnborough. We’re looking for confident, reliable graduates to step into Cover Supervisor roles on both a long term and flexible basis. No classroom experience? That’s absolutely fine. We’ll support you with training, guidance, and the chance to spend time in schools before you start, so you feel comfortable from day one.

What the role involves:

  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans
  • Keeping students engaged and focused
  • Managing behaviour in a calm, consistent way
  • Following the school’s routines and expectations
  • Feeding back to teaching staff where needed

Why this role?

If you’re considering teaching, this is one of the best ways to get a real feel for the classroom - without committing straight away. You’ll build confidence, gain experience, and understand how schools really work day-to-day. We can also introduce you to local teacher training routes, including salaried pathways to gain QTS.

Who this role would suit:

We’re keen to hear from graduates across a range of subjects, including:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Humanities (History, Geography, RE)
  • Sports & PE
  • Psychology or related subjects

You don’t need to be a specialist teacher - just someone who can communicate clearly, think on their feet, and build rapport with students.

What we offer:

  • Flexible work (part-time or full-time)
  • Opportunities in local schools
  • Weekly pay from £120 per day (PAYE)
  • Free training (behaviour management, SEN, safeguarding)
  • Experience and shadow days before you start
  • A people-first approach built on fairness, transparency, and support

Safeguarding:

At Quokka Education, safeguarding comes first. All applicants will be vetted in line with DfE guidance, including an online search as part of the process. We’ll guide you through each step so you know what to expect.

Interested? Apply today or get in touch for an informal chat - happy to talk things through. Know someone who’d be a great fit? We offer up to £150 for successful referrals.
