We are looking for an Assistant Consultant to join our Socio‑Economics Infrastructure and Economics team.

What you are going to do

This role supports senior colleagues through high‑quality research and helps maintain the team’s reputation at the forefront of the industry.

You will contribute to the delivery of strategic socio‑economic advice by researching, analysing and clearly presenting information.

  • Key Role Responsibilities
  • Support senior colleagues with high‑quality research.
  • Contribute to strategic socio‑economic advice through robust research and clear, well‑structured presentation of findings.
  • Assist in developing evidence to support development proposals, including contributing to formal socio‑economic EIA deliverables for DCO and TCPA applications.
  • Undertake economic and socio‑economic data analysis using appropriate statistical methods.
  • Produce clear and engaging maps, charts and graphics to communicate analysis effectively (GIS skills desirable; training will be provided).

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience, with a sound understanding of economic impact assessments and strong numerical skills.
  • An interest in delivering socio‑economic impact assessments for major infrastructure projects, including NSIPs.
  • The ability to think strategically, recognising how project‑level decisions influence wider societal outcomes.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused and collaborative mindset, with confidence to challenge ideas constructively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work closely with and report to experienced senior colleagues, collaborating effectively within the team.
