We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Tax Trainee to join our client’s expanding Tax department. This is an excellent opportunity for school leavers or recent graduates eager to build a rewarding career in tax. The role offers a mix of office-based and client-facing responsibilities under the supervision of experienced managers.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Tax

  • Preparing Personal Tax Returns varying in complexity, from R40 repayment claims to high-net-worth individuals, including company directors, self-employed individuals, and partners/partnerships.

  • Processing tax returns for resident non-domiciled individuals.

  • Handling non-resident landlord tax returns for individuals.

  • Ad-hoc advisory work.

Corporate Tax

  • Preparing computations and returns, including personal tax affairs of directors.

  • Monitoring the corporation tax status of companies.

  • Preparing and submitting P11Ds.

  • Processing ATED returns/relief returns.

  • Handling corporation tax returns for corporate non-resident landlords.

  • Processing non-resident capital gains tax returns.

International Tax Aspects

  • Handling tax returns for resident non-domiciled individuals.

  • Processing non-resident landlord tax returns for individuals.

  • Preparing corporation tax returns for corporate non-resident landlords.

  • Processing non-resident capital gains tax returns.

  • Managing ATED returns/relief returns.

Key Requirements

  • Interested in a career in tax with a willingness to progress and develop tax knowledge.

  • Commitment to undertaking ATT/CTA qualifications (study support package provided).

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple accounts simultaneously.
