Job Description
Set in the heart of Liverpool city centre, Quirky Quarter is an imaginative and much-loved visitor attraction known for its playful spaces and memorable guest experiences. Visitors consistently compliment the venue\'s unique atmosphere — and you\'ll be right at the centre of it.
We\'re looking for a creative, people-focused front of house manager to elevate our retail, café and overall visitor experience. From developing a quirky, characterful café and shop to shaping a more theatrical front-of-house journey and driving merchandise sales both in person and online, this role is all about bringing the space to life.
A realistic and achievable bonus scheme is included.
The Role:
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you\'ll take full ownership of the front-of-house operation — shaping the visitor journey, developing the shop and café offerings, and leading a team to deliver an exceptional, memorable experience every day. You\'ll work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations while driving merchandise sales, enhancing guest engagement and maximising commercial opportunities on site and online.
It\'s essential that you\'re confident, creative and highly personable, with a natural flair for building rapport with guests, partners and suppliers. Key Responsibilities:
● Work closely with the general manager and operations team to ensure exceptional customer service and smooth execution
● Manage booking systems, customer databases, and follow-up processes efficiently
● Produce accurate sales forecasting and monthly reports for senior management
● Assist marketing efforts including content creation and social media posts to promote merchandise, café offering and the overall attraction.
● Transform the retail space into a memorable, playful, on-brand experience.
● Develop the product range and visual merchandising.
● Increase revenue through in-person sales, online sales, and B2B outreach (corporate bundles, wholesale, partnerships, etc.)
● Evolve the current basic service into a distinctive, quirky café concept aligned with the attraction\'s identity.
● Oversee menu development, presentation, service style and operational standards.
● Enhance front-of-house interactions to feel theatrical, playful and mysterious.
● Train and lead staff to deliver playful and memorable guest engagement.
● Maintain high service levels and solve problems on the spot.
What We\'re Looking For:
● Proven experience in front-of-house management within hospitality, retail, visitor attractions or similar customer-facing environments
● Strong people skills with the ability to create a warm, engaging, and theatrical visitor experience
● Experience developing or improving café or retail offerings, including visual merchandising or product range development
● Confident driving sales across retail, café and online channels, with a customer-first mindset
● Highly organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
● Comfortable using social media or supporting content creation to promote the visitor experience and merchandise
● Proficient with booking/EPOS systems and Microsoft Office
● Flexible to work some evenings and weekends as required
What We Offer:
● Opportunity to earn commission through a generous bonus scheme
● Autonomy and support to develop your own sales and training strategy
● A small, collaborative, people-first company culture
How to Apply:
If you\'re a natural people-person with a passion for creating memorable visitor experiences, a flair for developing unique café and retail spaces, and the drive to grow sales across our shop, café and merchandise channels, we\'d love to hear from you.
