Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Client Services Director to lead and build our client services function at Quirky Digital.
This is a senior leadership role based in Liverpool, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
You will take ownership of key client relationships, oversee retention and account growth, and help shape how client services operate as the business scales.
This is not a role focused purely on account management.
We are looking for someone who can operate strategically with senior stakeholders, strengthen client partnerships, lead internal teams, and build a best-in-class client experience function from the ground up.
You will work closely with our technical SEO, content, and digital PR teams to ensure the client strategy is aligned, commercially focused, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior strategic lead across a portfolio of high-value client accounts, building trusted long-term relationships
- Own client retention by driving performance, momentum, and strategic confidence across all accounts
- Lead senior stakeholder communication with founders, CMOs, marketing directors, and in-house teams
- Manage complex client conversations, challenges, and escalations with confidence and commercial awareness
- Build, structure, and scale the client services function to support business growth
- Recruit, mentor, and develop account managers and wider client services team members
- Set clear internal standards for communication, reporting, account planning, and service delivery
- Work closely with technical SEO, content, and digital PR teams to shape joined-up client strategies
- Identify genuine growth opportunities across existing accounts, including upsells and retainer expansion
- Support new business conversations by providing senior strategic input and client relationship expertise
- What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years in a senior client services, account leadership, or client partnership role within an SEO or digital agency
- Proven experience managing high-value client retainers with strong retention results
- Demonstrable success growing accounts through strategic relationship management
- Experience building, leading, or scaling a client services or account management team
- Strong understanding of modern search, including technical SEO, content strategy, digital PR, and LLM visibility
- Commercially aware with the ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills with confidence, engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Comfortably challenge clients constructively when needed
- Strong leadership presence with a collaborative management style
