The best deals are won by the person in the room who understands the customer's operation better than anyone else. Quinyx is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to be that person in the UK – one of our two priority growth markets.

About the role

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Quinyx, you'll be the technical and commercial lead on our most complex UK opportunities: retail, hospitality, and logistics organisations with 1,000+ employees, multiple sites, and real complexity in how they plan their people. You'll report directly to the Manager of Solution Engineering and work hand in hand with our UK account executives.

This isn't a demo-on-request role. You'll shape deals from the first conversation, influence how customers define what they need, and tell your AE honestly when a deal isn't worth chasing. You'll still run demos – plenty of them in your first year – but the job is to win, not just to show. And because the UK is where we're investing for growth, you'll also help build how we sell here: the demo environments, the vertical expertise, and the know-how the rest of the team runs on.

What you’ll do

  • Run consultative discovery that gets to a customer's real business problem, and design tailored solutions that solve it – including how AI-driven scheduling and forecasting change their operation.
  • Partner with account executives as an equal: shape deal strategy, prioritise the opportunities that fit our ideal customer profile, and push back on the ones that don't.
  • Uncover the buyer's critical business issues by leading discovery calls, and define a value-driven solution that clearly showcases how Quinyx will solve their challenges.
  • Position yourself as a trusted advisor, leveraging knowledge from the industry and partner ecosystem to build credibility to consult and influence the buyer’s strategy and desired solution.
  • Collaborate across business functions to feedback on current products and assist them in prioritising the highest impact new solutions.
  • Take lead on crafting the value proposition as part of RFP submissions.
  • Continuously learn and grow your knowledge of Quinyx solutions and your buyers’ changing challenges and industry trends.
  • Champion best practices around qualification, value-selling, industry insights, by taking ownership of documentation, and communicating these across business functions.

What we’re looking for

  • A track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals as a solutions engineer, presales consultant, or similar, where you owned the technical win.
  • Experience shaping a customer's requirements through consultative discovery, rather than responding to a list of features.
  • Confidence in front of senior buyers – you stay composed and credible when the questions get difficult.
  • A commercial mindset: you understand why deals are won and lost, and you're comfortable telling a sales colleague when an opportunity isn't worth your time.
  • Experience working within a structured sales methodology (e.g. MEDDPICC), and takes an active role in supporting the qualification of buyers in complex sales cycles.
  • Fluency in English and a good understanding of how UK organisations buy.

Nice to have (but not required)

  • Experience with workforce management, scheduling, HR, or payroll software.
  • Knowledge of retail, hospitality, or logistics operations – how shifts, labour costs, and compliance work on the ground.
  • Experience building demo environments or reusable sales assets.
  • Experience presenting AI-driven product capabilities to business buyers.
  • Familiarity with integrations and APIs in an enterprise HR or ERP landscape.
  • Trained in a certified demo methodology such as GreatDemo! or Demo2Win would be an advantage.

Desired personality traits

  • Commercially sharp – you think about the deal, not just the demo, and you'd rather qualify out early than lose late.
  • Calm under pressure – difficult questions energise you rather than throw you.
  • Self-driven – you take ownership, make decisions, and keep things moving without hand-holding.
  • Curious about customers – you want to understand how their operation really works before you propose anything.
  • Generous with what you know – you share what works so the whole team gets better.

✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
