Accounts & Tax Senior / Semi-Senior

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality tax, accounting and auditing services. They provide exposure to a varied client base, including more complex personal and corporate tax affairs, with opportunities to assist in broader accounting work during quieter periods.

The Role

They are seeking a Accounts & Tax Senior with experience in personal and corporation tax, ideally gained at a firm handling slightly more complex client affairs. The role is weighted approximately 70% towards personal tax, managing compliance and advisory work for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Alternatively, they are open to a Accounts & Tax Semi-Senior with around 3 years’ experience and at least ATT qualification, offering a similar development opportunity in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage personal tax compliance for a range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Prepare and review corporation tax returns for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
  • Provide tax advice and planning support where required.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients.
  • Support the wider team with accounting work during quieter tax periods (February–April).

Requirements

Essential

  • ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Strong background in personal tax compliance.
  • Good working knowledge of corporation tax.
  • Ability to manage a client portfolio independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Exposure to tax advisory work.
  • Experience with SME or owner-managed business clients.
  • Willingness to assist across both tax and accounts when required.
