Quintessentially Foundation is on a mission to light up the lives of children and young people facing severe disadvantages in London. We are a 100% donor-funded, grant-giving foundation dedicated to tackling London’s child poverty crisis. We do this by finding, funding, and supporting the small frontline charities making the biggest difference in their communities.

We are seeking an ambitious and highly capable Head of Events & Engagement to lead Quintessentially Foundation’s fundraising, events, and donor engagement strategy. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of the Foundation, responsible for shaping and delivering a high-impact programme of events that inspires our community and generates significant and sustainable income. A core focus of the role is developing and maximising fundraising opportunities through events, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships, working closely with senior stakeholders and Trustees to convert relationships into long-term support.

You will oversee the Foundation’s full events portfolio, which currently generates over £1m. This comprises our annual flagship fundraising events, including:

  • The World Padel Charity Championships - This one‑day padel tournament brings together community, philanthropy, and sport to celebrate the world’s fastest‑growing game. Guests enjoy an inclusive, high‑energy atmosphere filled with thrilling matches.
  • The Bike Ride - Since 2008, this unforgettable adventure has seen our riders take on some of Europe’s most iconic and demanding routes, from the Swiss Alps and the Scottish Highlands to Rome, the South of France, Croatia, and Italy.
  • The Fayre of St James’s - One of London’s most cherished charity Christmas concerts, the evening includes celebrity performances, festive readings, a silent auction, and the launch of our Light Up a Life Winter Appeal followed by an intimate dinner & live auction at Loulou’s 5 Hertford Street.

Reporting directly to the Director of the Foundation, you will play a key role in shaping fundraising strategy and developing new and innovative initiatives—ensuring every touchpoint delivers exceptional quality, meaningful engagement and measurable impact while also managing complex, fast-moving delivery.

The role requires someone who is confident operating at senior level, highly comfortable engaging with Trustees and key stakeholders, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. You will also work closely with the wider Quintessentially team to unlock networks, partnerships, and opportunities, ensuring the Foundation continues to expand its reach and influence.

As a leader, you will manage and develop the Events & Marketing Manager, supporting their growth while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. You will also take ownership of the events budget, ensuring strong financial management, accountability, and return on investment across all activity.

This is a pivotal role for someone who combines creativity with commercial thinking, and who is motivated by using events and engagement as a powerful tool to drive philanthropic impact.
