QDSL (Quintessential Design Services Limited) is an engineering and technology consultancy, supporting client projects in the field of Engineering Innovations, Research & Development and IT. We offer engineering support in Automotive, Aerospace, Energy and IT. The Consultant Technical Specialist will provide advanced technical expertise across Remote Parameter Control (RPC), Closed Loop Control, Data Processing, Durability, and Software Design & Development. This role plays a critical part in enabling technology uplift across Major Simulators and Battery Test facilities within Engineering Laboratories. The specialist will lead global implementation of MTS Connect software as part of the Road to Rig strategic transformation. The role also oversees the integration of new hardware technologies, refinement of 6 DoF axle rig strategies, reintroduction of 4 DoF rig capability from remote sites, and alignment of Octopod Battery Test strategies for certification across EMA and MLA battery programs. This is a senior consulting role requiring deep domain expertise, significant experience, and the ability to drive global adoption of advanced test technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant‑level technical support in RPC systems, rig control, closed loop control, system calibration, and data processing workflows.
- Lead global deployment, configuration, and integration of MTS Connect software with new and existing technologies.
- Oversee development, refinement, and validation of drive signals, including reconfiguration, concatenation, and data preparation.
- Support technology uplift initiatives across Major Simulators and Battery Test areas, both hardware and software.
- Champion durability and robustness validation processes across engineering test environments.
- Provide expert guidance for 6 DoF axle rig strategies and manage reintroduction of 4 DoF rigs at remote locations.
- Drive alignment and rollout of the Octopod Battery Test Strategy to support battery certification for EMA & MLA derivatives.
- Act as a global problem‑solving lead for complex system integration challenges.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of new test technologies and processes.
- Mentor technical teams and contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methods, and global best practices.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

Education
- 25 years of experience in relevant disciplines within engineering test environments.
- Minimum BSc degree in Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation.
