Job Summary:

You will be working on Electrification projects. This team is responsible for CAE / simulations for all areas within PT (such as Traction Batteries, EDUs, E-Machines, Inverters, Transmissions, Drivelines, et.al), the CAE assessments from this team feeds into significant engineering & program decisions for product development cycle.

You will be performing EMC simulation analysis of the Propulsion System (such as EDUs, Inverter, E-Machines, Traction Batteries, Transmissions, HV & LV Charging System s) at System / Sub-system level, establish EMC team design capabilities, responsible for establishing EMC simulation workflows, specifications and standards within the team. Co-ordinate with EMC physical testing team to co-relate the simulation results with the real test data and gather learning to optimise the EMC Simulation methods for future assessments.

The ideal candidate will be a high-performing professional who is proficient in using EMC simulation software such as (eg. CST Microwave Studio, Altair FEKO, Flux, HFSS /SIwave/Q3D) and other electromagnetic simulation software. Key Responsibilities

Perform EMC simulation analysis of the Propulsion System (such as EDUs, Inverter, E-Machines, Traction Batteries, Transmissions, HV & LV Charging Systems) at System / Sub-system level.

Create models of Powertrain component, sub-system & system level and perform EMC/EMI simulation on component, sub-system & system level. Components or system such as: BEM (Battery Energy Management), HV Cables, HV Busbars, HV Connectors, HV & LV Charging Systems, PCBs.

Conduct electromagnetic simulations and ensuring that analysis is completed thoroughly, accurately, and according to schedule.

Collaborate with your peers, Management / technical Specialist in the creation of simulation, simulation methods.

To analyse electro-magnetic designs using various analysis tools, templates and techniques to meet customer or internal requirements.

To interpret electro-magnetic analysis results and provide design direction where necessary supported by analysis reports.

Conduct Simulations, Measurements & Co-relations.

Conduct 3D electromagnetic field simulation for a wide range of applications including RF/Microwave design, optics and photonics, antenna design and installed performance, specific absorption rate (SAR), bio-electromagnetics, co-existence, de-sense and interference, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI) and environmental effects (E3), Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI)., Radiated Immunity (RI), Radiated Emissions (RE), Electro Static Discharge (ESD), Conducted Emissions (CE), Conducted Immunity (CI), and Transfer Impedance.

Collect data from design engineers on System / Sub-system to ensure all data is available for pre-processing in readiness to initiate the EMC simulations effectively and on time.

To write reports, documentation, and present data at all levels across the organisation.

To interface directly with clients on technical issues when required.

Create the testing methods including test models for each new system/sub-system in discussions.

Present results and designs through both written reports and oral presentations

Promoting a culture of sharing best practice and process improvement

Transfer skills by sharing technical knowledge internally and/or to partners.

To create analysis proposals for prospective customers detailing work scope, deliverables and required resources.

To support the Business Development team in seeking out new business and marketing opportunities

Skills Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD Degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering with knowledge of Electro magnetics.

Experienced in using both high-frequency and low-frequency electromagnetic (EM) simulation software’s i.e Altair’s FEKO, Dassault CST and other EM Simulation Tools.

Awareness and interest in the following areas of Electromagnetics Low Observables (LO), Stealth Technology, Electromagnetic Capability (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Radiofrequency (RF), Antenna design/modelling or Computational Electromagnetic Modelling (CEM), Cross Coupling, Cable Coupling, HV/LV emissions,

Deep understanding of 3D electromagnetic field simulation for a wide range of applications including RF/Microwave design, optics and photonics, antenna design and installed performance, specific absorption rate (SAR), bio-electromagnetics, co-existence, de-sense and interference, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI) and environmental effects (E3), Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI)., Radiated Immunity (RI), Radiated Emissions (RE), Electro Static Discharge (ESD), Conducted Emissions (CE), Conducted Immunity (CI), and Transfer Impedance.

Experience of conducting EMI/EMC simulations for

Experience of creating models of Powertrain component, sub-system & system level and perform EMC/EMI simulation on component, sub-system & system level. Components or system such as: BEM (Battery Energy Management), HV Cables, HV Busbars, HV Connectors, HV & LV Charging Systems, Power Electronics circuit simulations.

Knowledge of low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility

Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) antenna design

Experience in Numerical and simulation techniques for electromagnetic and multi-physics analysis

Analysing and interpreting results of electromagnetic simulation to meet end-user requirement.

Minimum 3 to 10 years proven experience managing the implementation of electromagnetic simulations and related microwave/RF/antenna, EMC/EMI/EDA and thermal/electromechanical problems including Time domain and Frequency domain methods.

Experience & knowledge of Co-relation & methods development is preferred.

Knowledge of Scripting (Python, VB) will be desired.

Knowledge on good practices for PCB layout, wiring and shielding techniques.

Experience using computational electromagnetics tools in practical applications (time-domain approaches preferably)

Good English communication skills, verbal and written.

Able to communicate effectively, work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team and on own initiative.
