About the role
We are looking for 2 aspiring Apprentice HGV Technicians to join our Widnes depot. In this role, alongside your course, you will learn the technical aspects of motor vehicle mechanics.
Who you’ll be working for
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company. Established in 1996, we support customers to rationalise and decarbonise fleets, reduce costs and minimise Vehicle Off Road time.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- A desire to learn and progress within the HGV industry
- Presentable with a good attitude to work
- Ability to maintain a positive customer experience through good customer service when required
- Work experience from within a garage/ workshop/ vehicle depot is advantageous
What you’ll be doing
- Attend college and other training courses to learn the technical aspects of HGVs
- Work alongside competent colleagues/HGV Technicians to learn practical aspects of HGV mechanics
- Maintain a commercial fleet of HGVs to DVSA standards, while observing company and manufacturer policies
- Minimise customer downtime by ensuring each job is managed efficiently and effectively
- Maintain external client vehicles & trailers to the highest standards and deliver customer expectations
- Keep documentation accurate and up to date using designated paperwork and IT systems
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained and used in a safe working condition, liaising with the supervisor and service centre manager where necessary
- Observe CSOH Health & Safety requirements in compliance with regulations, liaising with manager and H&S officer where necessary
- Communicate positively with customers to ensure a good experience
