We are now looking for a Network Transport Planner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting ATL’s continued growth. As Network Transport Planner, you will be responsible for designing efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective transport routes for our fleet. This will involve considering delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, fuel efficiency, customer requirements, regulatory compliance, and overall operational performance.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field, combined with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, optimise, and continuously review transport routes to improve efficiency, reduce mileage, maximise fleet utilisation, and support excellent service delivery.
  • Use route planning software, TMS platforms, telematics, and real‑time operational data to support accurate and effective transport planning.
  • Analyse transport costs, route performance, and operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Ensure planned routes comply with transport regulations, safety standards, environmental guidelines, company procedures, and ADR requirements where applicable.
  • Work closely with drivers, controllers, First Line Managers, warehouse teams, and external partners to ensure smooth and effective transport operations.
  • Prepare reports and provide clear updates on route planning, performance metrics, operational challenges, and improvement recommendations.
  • Support the ongoing development of transport planning processes, systems, and technology to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision‑making.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Transport Planner, Network Planner, or in a similar logistics planning role.
  • Experience using TMS systems and route optimisation tools, ideally including Sterling, ESP, Qargo, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • The ability to solve complex logistical challenges and optimise routes under changing operational constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a commitment to delivering a high‑quality service.
Working Hours

This role is fully site‑based and operates Monday to Friday. Occasional flexibility at weekends may be required in line with business needs.
