As a Nurse in our Reconnect Community, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals whose primary care need is managing distress responses. You’ll lead a compassionate, evidence‑based approach that focuses on understanding the causes of distress and reducing reliance on medication. Your goal is to help residents retain their identity, maintain their abilities, and live life with purpose.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Developing person‑centred care plans and risk assessments
- Leading the care team in delivering meaningful, empathetic support
- Promoting independence, choice, and positive engagement
- Liaising with families, external professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Reducing reliance on psychotropic medication through non‑pharmacological interventions
- Supporting best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
- Conducting supervisions, appraisals, and coaching care staff
- Ensuring compliance with NMC standards and Orchard policies
You’ll be a role model for compassionate dementia care, helping to build a culture of respect, understanding, and continuous improvement.
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Experience in dementia care and person‑centred planning
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and clinical governance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
