Description K ey Accountabilities
- Working with the Head of Technical - Avocado, help support and understand the management process for all Quality, Food safety, Legality.
Sustainability, Ethical and Technical management delivery for their product areas, working with the relevant teams to deliver best in class.
- Takes a strategic and active role in the companies’ new supplier and new season supplier approval / due diligence process. (Supply Chain Technical, Ethical & Environmental DD).
- Technical approval of Avocado OAL programs and participates on the spec sign off rota. Where needed and agreed.
- To work closely with the relevant produce teams in the business to identify and exploit opportunities to improve quality performance and business efficiency using the business’ CI tools.
- Help manage and support key areas of documentation, spreadsheets, and reports needed by our customers, complete in full accuracy and deliver in time scales internally and externally.
- Support and cover the technical manager as the customer's point of contact for all product areas relevant to reporting, issues & queries.
Communicate back from this to the wider business key details and needs expressed by the customers.
To be agreed with the senior technical manager or avocado desk where support is needed elsewhere.
- Lead and participate in investigations for complaints of performance. Use WFL CI tools to identify root causes and implement improvement actions.
- To support the relevant produce teams' areas on NPD innovation, understand the process from concept to launch, and involve all the relevant stakeholders along the process.
- To help and support the management of customer and internal specifications and key documentation that keeps the flow of the business going, with the technical manager for all products that are covered in product roles.
- Attend and support key meetings for external customers with the Head of Technical – Avocado, so that there is a full understanding of the customer's needs and aspirations.
Understand how to work with the customer in these meetings to deliver desired win/ win outcomes.
- Engage with suppliers on seasonal prospects and the wider technical agenda including spec alignment, environment, ethical, quality underperformance.
- Collaborate with the site teams to build site and supplier improvement plans.
- Attend key internal meetings, these can be weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
These meetings will be reflective of the product areas covered.
Ensuring that the technical agenda is represented and all key actions and work streams from meetings are followed through with the support of the technical manager.
- To manage the complaints process day to day and monitor the performance of the business.
To create analysis and reports of this data for all technical managers.
Giving insight around data to help understand presentations.
- When relevant and needed support the technologist with visits to suppliers and or growers to review performance and quality and understand opportunities for improvement.
- To actively promote best practices in relation to Hygiene, Health and safety standards, and good housekeeping whilst supporting the Company’s efforts to minimize its environmental impact and adopt environmental best practices.
- Undertake GMP & Food Safety Audits periodically.
- Coordination and management of the sample approval process.
- To look to identify areas of improvement, opportunity, and innovation.
- Manage your time fully across all the areas ensuring you prioritise the key work streams to hit deadlines.
- To ensure brand integrity is maintained for Worldwide Fruit and our customers by following policies and procedures so the product meets the expected standard and specification.
