Accountabilities:
- Assess fruit on arrival at the Apple Way site and other off-site storage locations in and around Spalding in line with WFL processes.
- Conduct quality assessments on fruit throughout storage on site to ensure quality risks are made visible to the wider business, using Clarifruit QC software.
- Conduct post-ripened & pre-production quality checks, using Clarifruit QC software.
- Conduct quality assessments on shelf life, ripening & hot box trials.
- Make recommendations to Product Managers & Procurement teams regarding management of fruit through the process based on checks conducted.
- Conduct online process validation checks to ensure processes are followed and product being produced meets customer specifications.
- Conduct GMP Audits in line with audit schedule.
- Assist in making basic changes to the OAL programmes to support OAL champion at weekends and during holidays.
- Conduct Finished good assessments on packed product where necessary to ensure product meets customer specifications.
- Actively seek guidance on the management of High-Risk Management Plans to ensure our site quality assessments are robustly mitigating fruit quality risks.
- Raise process failures and internal service failures (packing/printing errors) to the wider business.
- Ensure any product which does not meet food safety, quality, legality, or integrity requirements is appropriately controlled in line with our Hold and Quarantine policies.
- Verify and maintain all QC equipment on site.
- Actively promote best practice in relation to Hygiene & Health & Safety standards.
- Look to identify areas of continuous improvement and communicate ideas to senior team, using lean tools and techniques such as 5S, root cause.
