THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Lymn Bank Farm, our specialist waxed cheese and cheese bite production site.

As Finance Manager, you will ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the accounting function. You will lead the preparation of periodic financial reporting for all legal entities and budgets, maintain accurate accounting records, and implement a robust framework of financial controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of financial results, and ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards. You will also collate, calculate, and review monthly staff timesheets and liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively lead and manage the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and governance are in place across the business
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of all accounting operations and maintenance of accurate accounting records
  • Complete daybooks and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial results for all legal entities in a timely, accurate and professional format
  • Conduct regular sales and purchase ledger reviews and approve supplier payment runs
  • Collate, calculate, and review monthly timesheets for hourly paid colleagues and liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reviews across all legal entities
  • Review and approve VAT returns
  • Prepare annual budgets and support forecasting activities for key stakeholders
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis, KPI reporting, and ad-hoc reporting to support business decisions
  • Oversee the annual external audit and banking audit processes, ensuring timely provision of information
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and the wider control framework
  • Provide financial insight and support to the Managing Director and senior leadership team
  • Attend operational meetings and provide financial updates where required
  • Support training and development within the business
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role
