We are currently seeking a Part-Time Shop Assistant to join our friendly team in our Tideswell shop, which is open to the public. This is a customer-facing role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining stock levels, replenishing shelves, and serving customers. Providing excellent customer service will be at the heart of everything you do.

Working hours are 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday with the flexibility to provide cover for staff holidays in the week. The pay is £12.75 per hour with flexibility to work additional hours to cover staff absence when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service & Sales: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, assist with enquiries, and process transactions accurately using the till to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience.
  • Stock Ordering: Place and manage customer orders as required, ensuring requests are handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Stock Control: Monitor and maintain stock levels using the rolling stock ordering system, identifying when replenishment is needed and ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Merchandising & Presentation: Keep shelves, displays, and freezers fully stocked, clean, and attractively presented to maximise customer appeal and support sales.
  • Hygiene & Compliance: Adhere to all hygiene, health, and food safety standards, ensuring the shop environment remains safe, clean, and compliant with regulations at all times.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident in using a till and handling payments
  • Computer literate and comfortable with stock ordering systems
  • You must be prepared to collect orders from the coldstore on occasions
