Are you a motivated leader? Do you have an eye for detail? Would working outside regular office hours suit you? The Gillian Lynne Theatre is thrilled to be hosting the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of My Neighbour Totoro. We’re looking for an engaging and enthusiastic Retail Supervisor to create extraordinary experiences for our audiences, always ensuring their safety and security while maximising sales opportunities.
The Retail Supervisor will supervise the smooth running of our merchandise and retail operation, ensuring we exceed sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Championing and maintaining the highest standards of service, cleanliness and presentation across our theatre
- Proactively resolving issues, putting our guests’ experience first
- Engaging and motivating our team of Guest Experience Hosts to drive sales across roaming and fixed sales positions
- Liaising with our merchandise provider and other suppliers to present the best product options for our guests
- Completing weekly stock takes, ensuring accurate reporting and finding new opportunities to grow sales
- Conducting regular safety checks and maintaining a clear understanding of emergency procedures, responding promptly and professionally to any incidents
- Working alongside our Bar and Guest Experience Supervisors to support our Guest Experience Team, covering their responsibilities where required
What we’re looking for:

- Detail-oriented, dependable leaders with a sales focus and a high level of numeracy

- Experience supervising a team (not necessarily in a theatre environment!)
Salary: £15.69 per hour

We are hiring people that can work all 8 shows a week. The schedule will be as follows: Tuesday – Saturday evenings (7pm) and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday matinees (2pm). There may be additional admin shifts around this.
