Cornish Lithium are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Operations Geologist or Hydrogeologist to assist with drill testing activities during the Company’s upcoming exploration and demonstration well drilling projects. The ideal candidate will have completed a geoscience degree and have experience working around drilling rigs, core logging, geological modelling and hydrogeological well testing.
As an Operations Geologist your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and liaison with drilling site contractors
- Undertaking core and or chip logging
- Assisting with hydrogeological test work, including geothermal water sampling, conforming with QA/QC protocols
- Review of geological targets and well trajectories
- Production and preparation of documentation, geological models and maps, including the collection, interpretation and analysis of geological data.
We would welcome applicants with the following attributes:
- BSc in Geology, Geoscience or Hydrogeology
- Ability to communicate with all levels within the company, including technical teams, management and with contractors
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working as part of a tight-knit team, but also capable of working independently with limited supervision, including experience in prioritising and working under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- MSc in Geology, Geoscience or Hydrogeology
- Hydrogeological well testing including the installation of packer and pump systems
- Experience with working around mineral exploration or onshore rotary drilling rigs
- Experience with Leapfrog Geo/Geothermal and QGIS
Salary and Hours: We will be offering a competitive salary for this role dependent on experience, with the following benefits:

This is a Fixed Term position, initially for up to six months duration. The role will be based at the Company’s Lithium in Geothermal Waters Test Site, United Downs, St. Day, Cornwall, TR10 9TA. Annual leave is the equivalent of five weeks per year pro rata, plus UK Bank Holidays. Successful applicants must be prepared to work a shift rota which will include weekend working.
