Job Summary: Cornish Lithium are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Analyst/Scientist. The successful applicant must be enthusiastic about chemistry and willing to conduct experiments and apply the findings from their analytical work to problems and/or reduce process risks that have evolved with testing the technologies from leading lithium extraction technology suppliers on Cornish Lithium's brine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a laboratory, in a team, handling chemicals, operating analytical equipment, creating experiments and report writing.
  • The company has a strong health and safety culture, and you will be required to write risk assessments and method statements for the experimental work you are tasked with; and assist our laboratory with COSHH assessments and writing standard operating procedures.
  • Collecting and arranging the delivery of samples to our process technology suppliers will also be a key part of your role.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Laboratory analytical chemistry experience, ideally 3 years minimum
  • Good level of competence in Excel & Word
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative and work in a team
  • Statistical knowledge and data assessment experience
  • Capable of creating technical drawings/illustrations for their experiments and report
  • Valid UK driving license

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge for water treatment technologies and/or mineral processing.
  • Have some background knowledge of the UK's dependence on critical rare metals (CRM's)

This is a Fixed Term position, initially for up to twelve months duration. The role will be based at the Company's Lithium in Geothermal Waters Test Site, United Downs, St. Day, Cornwall, TR10 9TA. Annual leave is the equivalent of 25 days per year pro rata, plus UK Bank Holidays.
