Description: To ensure food safety, quality and compliance systems are maintained and improvements are implemented as directed by the Technical Management team. Providing the necessary support to maintain systems, logs and documents in compliance with Blue Earth Foods external and internal standards.
Requirements:
- Provide administration support for the Technical department.
- Product and environmental sample submissions utilising the external laboratory portal on a daily basis.
- Create and maintain sampling schedules within the external laboratory portal.
- Update the out of specification logs and create investigation templates for products and environmental samples.
- Provide accurate timely Technical KPI data in a visual format including trending to enable the site management team to assess food quality, safety and legality.
- Compliance of notice board data (GMP/Complaints etc) to ensure communication to all departments.
- Administration of QA logs and action follow up compliance.
- Monitor schedule compliance and report on a weekly basis.
- Maintain the complaint handling system ensuring complaints are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Communicate internally and externally individual complaints and complaint trends.
- Work with QA and Operational departments to ensure complaint investigations are issued, carried out, root cause documented and actions taken to minimise repeated issues ensuring closure.
- Partake and (on required occasions) lead Taste Panels for product quality assessments.
- Complete improvements tasks as directed by Technical management to ensure Technical systems are compliant with required third party audit and customer code of practice standards.
- Maintain document control for QA/Hygiene systems ensuring documents are up to date on the document tree system, for all changes and amendments including routine review.
- Administration of QA/Hygiene purchase order invoicing.
- Be a key member of the site traceability.
- Work positively and cross functionally with all departments to drive continuous improvement in technical systems.
- Provide support for Technical team, in project work, validation and routine schedules of work.
- Cover requested tasks during periods of absence within the QA team.
- Fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines.
- Any other duties and projects that may be assigned as deemed necessary to the needs of the business.
Job preview:
- Minimum one-year experience in food industry QA or Technical role in relevant food science based degree course.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Fluent English language written and spoken.
- Higher education qualification, ideally in Food Quality / Food Safety related area.
- HACCP L3.
- Food safety qualification at level 2 or higher.
- Internal auditing (Training can be provided whilst in employment for the above 3 desirable qualifications).
