Location: Paneltex Ltd, Somerden Road, Hull, HU9 5PE
Salary: From £13.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 3:00pm
Friday: 6:00am to 12:00pm

We are currently seeking a Panel Shop Prep/Trim Machine Operative to join our growing team at our Hull site.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on manufacturing role responsible for cutting and preparing insulation materials, timber reinforcements, metal plates and conduit systems used in the construction of large structural insulated panels.
Working from engineering drawings and cutting lists, you will calculate required quantities and dimensions, prepare materials to specification, and operate a range of machinery to ensure components are ready for the next stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quality inspections using visual checks and measuring equipment to verify dimensions.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Cut, shape and prepare materials including foam insulation, plywood, softwood reinforcements, metal plates and conduit systems.
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment including routers, saws, drills, woodworking machinery, CNC machines and beam saws.
- Fit components as required according to engineering instructions.
- Record production progress throughout each stage of the manufacturing process.
- Label and prepare completed products for dispatch to the next department.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
About You
We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual who can work accurately in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience using handheld power tools.
- Experience setting up and operating manufacturing machinery.
- The ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
