Description: Ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in all hospital areas. Take all measures to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and patients, and report all incidents and accidents in accordance with policies and procedures. Use equipment safely and report any unsafe equipment immediately.
General Duties:
- Clean patient rooms, office, and public areas to a high standard, including vacuuming, wiping surfaces (including polishing if appropriate), emptying waste bins, and removing any other rubbish as requested.
- Polish corridors and stair areas as directed.
- Conduct periodic spring cleaning of patient rooms as required, including shampooing carpets with removal and replacement of furniture and fittings.
- Remove clinical waste from clinical areas, place into appropriate containers for external contractors.
- Perform general laundry duties, including collection, washing, ironing and returning patient laundry.
- Collect dirty laundry from patient areas, process laundry and deliver clean laundry according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Undertake the duties of any other member of the domestic services team and any other duties reasonably requested by management.
