Derwen College is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our Hospitality and Food team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside our specialist teaching staff, supporting learners to develop their practical, social and employability skills within a real working environment.
About the role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with learners in our Hospitality and Food provision , helping them to gain confidence, independence and valuable workplace skills.
Your role will include
- Supporting learners during practical hospitality and food sessions.
- Helping learners develop cooking, food preparation, customer service and hospitality skills.
- Providing individualised support based on learners' needs and abilities.
- Encouraging learners to become as independent as possible.
- Supporting learners in developing communication, teamwork and employability skills.
- Helping learners access work-related learning and realistic workplace experiences.
- Working alongside teaching staff to deliver engaging and meaningful learning activities.
- Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and self-esteem.
- Supporting learners with personal and social development where required.
- Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
