About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available at Commercial Motors, Wales, part of the NRG Riverside Group. We are looking for an experienced Sales Executive to join the team and help us on our journey to growth. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth of Isuzu truck sales, parts, and aftersales services across the region, building a sustainable customer base and maximising lifetime value through service, maintenance, and repeat business.

Who will you be working for?

Commercial Motors (Wales) Limited is wholly owned by NRG Riverside, the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company. From our Commercial Motors depot in Newport, South Wales, we operate an Isuzu Truck dealership, an MAN Service Partner operation and a DVSA Authorised Test Facility. Combined with fleet maintenance contracts for retail customers and Flexi-Hire operations for the wider NRG Riverside business, we really do provide every kind of service to our valued customers of our Commercial Motors business. NRG Riverside provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • You will likely be working within a similar role such as an Account Manager; Sales Consultant; Business Development Manager; Truck Sales Executive; Parts Sales Executive; Sales Advisor; Account Executive; Fleet Sales Executive; Commercial Sales Executive etc.
  • You will have proven B2B sales experience (ideally commercial vehicles, fleet, or related sectors).
  • Strong relationship-building and account management capability with the ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Commercially driven with a focus on margin, not just volume.
  • Self-starter – able to generate own pipeline and opportunities through being highly proactive and results focused.
  • Comfortable operating in a structured, manufacturer-led environment.
  • Strong communicator with credibility at all levels.

What you’ll be doing day to day

  • Identify and win new Isuzu truck sales opportunities across target sectors (waste, local authority, highways, fleet operators).
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline to deliver against quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers (fleet managers, procurement, operators).
  • Work closely with bodybuilders and internal teams to deliver full vehicle solutions.
  • Drive parts, service, and repair revenue from all new and existing customers; ensure early engagement post-sale to embed aftercare and maintenance contracts and own the full customer lifecycle from initial contact through to repeat business.
  • Maximise customer retention through proactive account management and service planning as well as identifying upsell opportunities across parts, servicing, and fleet support.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to understand fleet needs and future opportunities while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction aligned to manufacturer standards.
  • Generate own leads through local networking, events, and targeted outreach.
  • Work with marketing to execute local campaigns aligned to Isuzu brand guidelines.
  • Leverage existing NRG Riverside / CMW customer base to drive cross-sell opportunities.
  • Work closely with workshop, parts, and operations teams to ensure service delivery meets expectations.
  • Support accurate quoting, order management, and vehicle handover processes.
  • Provide market insight and feedback to support pricing, stock, and growth strategy.
