The Opportunity

  • Dairy Operative

, you'll play a vital role in delivering our daily production plan while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, product quality and Health & Safety.

Working as part of a supportive production team, you'll ensure manufacturing processes run efficiently, documentation is completed accurately, and our department remains audit-ready at all times.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where attention to detail, teamwork and a commitment to quality are essential.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for

R esponsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and equipment safely and effectively in a high care environment.
  • Adhere strictly to high care hygiene protocols including gowning procedures, hand washing, and equipment sanitation.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for the preparation, processing, and packing of products.
  • Conduct routine quality checks (e. g., weights, temperatures, labels) and accurately record results.
  • Ensure products meet quality and safety standards, reporting any non-conformance's to the Team Leader or Quality Department
  • Support the cleaning and sanitation of work areas and equipment according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and batch records in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure production targets and deadlines are met.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas for process enhancement.

Comply with all health and safety, food safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Supporting with any other relevant tasks
  • Reporting any Non-conformities.
  • Comply with all site safety protocols, including correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Accurately Complete Daily paperwork (Start up checks, Metal Detector Paperwork, Hygiene record, ETC…)
  • Safe use of production machinery, Two stage cutter, Cryovac & metal detector.
  • Report any Non-conformities to supervisor/manager when they occur.
  • Supervise agency staff ensuring they are working to a food safe & Health and safety standard.
  • Ensure that all team are working at an efficient pace to meet targets.
  • Ensuring GMP standards are always maintained.
  • Ensure department is Cleaned following the HIC Cards.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy for accurate record-keeping and label checks .
  • Ability to work in a chilled or temperature-controlled environment.
  • Proactive and positive attitude towards work and health & safety.
  • Previous food experience is preferred but not a necessity.
  • Previous experience within dairy or cheese manufacturing.
  • HACCP qualification or additional HACCP knowledge.
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
