Role Overview: Reporting to the Tool maintenance team leader, the Tool Maintenance Toolmaker, as part of the tool maintenance team, will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of High cavitation Injection Moulds.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday – 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Friday – 7:00 AM to 2:15 PM, 39 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Must have 4 GCSE A-C or equivalent, including Maths, Science and English
  • Must have completed a time served apprenticeship or equivalent in Toolmaking or similar
  • Must have experience working in a similar role within an engineering function.
  • Experience in the repair of Injection Mould Manifold Systems
  • Must have experience as a Toolmaker in Plastic Injection Moulding, and be able to effectively use at least one of either:
    • CAD Software Experience (Such as: FUSION360, POWERMILL, POWERSHAPE)
    • CNC Milling Machine (HURCO, RODER, FANUC)

Job Preview: The work can be very varied, so they must be skilled at using a variety of Manual and CNC Machining Techniques to repair and refurbish Plastic Injection Moulds dependant on Issues.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Using a variety of machinery to assess and Repair damage to Plastic Injection Moulds
  • Assembly and Disassembly of high cavitation injection Moulds
  • Critical Spare Parts Management
  • Using Repairs and Maintenance Planning software to prioritise work.
  • Knowledge on the repair and Maintenance of Injection Mould Manifold Systems – Specifically HUSKY or MoldMaster Systems.
  • Heavily Involved with the Tool Pre-Planned Maintenance and Refurbishment program of work

Other Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage our Internal Customer Expectations for Mould Repairs and Refurbishment.
  • Maximising Machine Capacity to reduce lead times for tool repair and Maintenance
  • Working Closely with the Production Team to help meet the demands of 24/7 Manufacturing
  • Be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and those around them
  • Communicate effectively to enhance an already strong team spirit
