The group consists of a network of 12 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. McMahons offer a one stop shop offering, with a wide range of products catering for the Builder, DIY enthusiast and Home Owner.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team at our Bay Road (Derry) branch. This role is responsible for managing the efficient movement, control, and accuracy of stock within the depot, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Management & Control: Oversee all stock movements into and out of the branch. Ensure all incoming goods are checked, recorded, and stored securely before processing. Identify and report discrepancies to suppliers promptly. Receipt all goods accurately into the system and allocate to correct storage locations. Manage customer returns, ensuring proper checks, documentation, and restocking.
  • Warehouse & Operations: Organise and maintain the warehouse/yard, ensuring efficient use of space and clear product locations. Create and maintain bin locations, particularly for fast-moving and high-value items. Ensure all outgoing goods are supported by correct documentation (delivery notes, invoices, IBTs, returns dockets). Maintain secure storage for high-value products. Take ownership of stock adjustments and cycle counts. Monitor and manage fast-moving and slow-moving stock. Support clearance stock reviews and initiatives. Manage ordering of high-value and fast-moving items. Coordinate supplier returns and ensure timely collections. Maintain accurate records and ensure signed PODs are processed appropriately. Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding discrepancies and returns.
  • Communication & Coordination: Liaise with sales teams regarding incoming stock (e.g. specials). Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • General Responsibilities: Represent the company professionally at all times. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong working relationships. Work efficiently and adhere to company systems, processes, and deadlines. Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a proactive approach to work. Contribute positively to team performance and overall business success.
