Hours: 45 hours per week, 07:00‑16:30 Monday‑Friday

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in roles such as Supervisor, Foreman, Shift Controller (preferred)
  • Experience managing Fabricators, Welding Engineers in a similar industry (body builders, commercial body repair & refurbishment)
  • Recognised welding & fabrication qualification (essential)
  • Municipal vehicle experience, e.g., refuse trucks (preferable)
  • Mechanical knowledge (preferable)
  • LGV Class 1 licence (preferable)
  • Excellent communication at all levels

Skills and Knowledge

  • Commercial vehicle / HGV repairs
  • Roof repairs
  • Welding/fabrication knowledge: alloy, MIG, TIG, stick

Responsibilities

  • Weld/fabrication repairs of commercial vehicles and equipment including refuse trucks
  • Conduct repairs off‑site at customer or third‑party premises when required
  • Identify additional work during the job and report to Shift Controller
  • Work within allotted timelines to maximise productivity
  • Use parts and materials efficiently and employ correct repair methods
  • Complete all job cards and paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Work safely alone when off‑site, following lone‑working safety guidelines
  • Maintain general housekeeping in the workshop, keeping work area clean
  • Follow all in‑house and 3rd‑party premises health & safety guidelines
  • Wear required PPE and ensure it is maintained to standard
  • Request training and support for personal development, and respond positively to feedback
