In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.
What candidate are we looking for?
- Experience from within a HGV Technician/Mechanic role
- Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential
- Experience working on Municipal/Refuse Vehicles, Hook-loaders, Skip Vehicles etc. is a plus
- Vehicle/Trailer Repairs, Safety Inspections, Oil & Filter Services and wheel etc.
- HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
- Class 2 licence preferred
- Experience of working in a similar role within the HGV industry
- Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices
What will be your duties?
- Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers' vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
- Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT tests
- Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
- Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
