Description Job Description
As a Warehouse Operative at Walker Logistics, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of warehouse goods.
Working as part of a team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and meeting SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
Shift Pattern
- Monday - Friday
- 6:00 - 14:00
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act in a safe manner at all times, prioritising the safety of yourself and others.
- Pick orders using a handheld scanner and pack them securely for dispatch.
- Place products into containers such as boxes or crates using appropriate packing equipment.
- Use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to pick orders efficiently.
- Ensure all packages are ready for dispatch at the end of the shift.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Team Leaders.
- Assist with other business requirements, as necessary.
- Ensure all SLAs and KPIs for warehouse operations are met.
- Complete product checks within the warehouse in a timely manner.
- Ensure all warehouse paperwork is completed accurately and exhibits correct signoffs.
- Liaise with relevant departments regarding challenges with quality and KPIs.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with your team to maximise output without compromising safety or quality.
- Complete daily workload as assigned.
- Ensure all products being picked are of the correct quality for customers.
- Pack all packages to customer quality standards.
- Ensure orders are ready for dispatch by the end of the shift.
- Report any stock queries to your Team Leader.
- Clean your work area to Walker Logistics standards.
- Achieve KPI targets set for your role.
- Ensure timesheet is updated daily and accurately.
- Perform any other reasonable and lawful tasks or instructions assigned to you from time to time.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and packing equipment.
- Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is advantageous.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
