Our drivers are at the heart of that operation, and we’re now looking for a full-time HGV/LGV Driver Assessor to help strengthen our internal assessment capability and support continuous improvement across the fleet.

This role is about more than completing assessments. You’ll play a key part in maintaining and improving driver quality standards, identifying coaching needs, supporting safe and professional driving behaviours, and making sure our drivers represent ATL to the highest standard every time they are on the road.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out driver assessments, onboarding checks, refresher reviews, post-incident assessments and practical coaching across Category C and C+E vehicles. Working closely with our transport and compliance teams, you’ll help ensure our drivers are safe, confident, compliant and aligned with the standards our customers expect.

Requirements

  • Category C and C+E licence entitlement
  • Experience assessing, coaching, mentoring or training HGV/LGV drivers
  • Strong knowledge of road safety, driver compliance and vehicle standards
  • A clear understanding of what good looks like in professional driving
  • A fair, consistent and practical approach to assessment
  • The confidence to provide constructive feedback and support driver improvement
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills
  • A professional approach when working with drivers, managers and operational teams
