The Role: We are looking for an experienced, flexible and committed HVAC Project Manager with a proven track record, to join our busy Contracts Team. The successful candidate will plan, organise and manage allocated HVAC projects from conception to final account, to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, to the correct quality standards, in line with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and to the satisfaction of the client.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Protect the company’s position and always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Control costs to deliver expected profit margins, commercial opportunities, and savings where appropriate.
  • Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions with the client and other stakeholders.
  • Produce and work to an agreed programme of works in line with the client’s needs and manage our own resource requirements accordingly.
  • Report progress and liaise regularly with your Line Manager and the client’s representatives.
  • Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers ensuring ‘best value’ on price, quality, delivery, and reliability.
  • Manage the project team and take overall responsibility for the project performance.
  • Prepare Environmental, Health and Safety Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and the like and ensure they are signed, understood, and adhered to.
  • Commercial management of projects preparing: Applications, Variations, Delay notices, Final Accounts, and Invoices etc in a timely manner.
  • Produce drawings, sketches, schedules, and requisitions etc should the need arise.
  • Visit sites (lodging overnight where necessary) to attend meetings, carry out surveys, site measures, inspections, audits etc and to provide support to the installation and commissioning teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and estimating/pricing exercises.

This job description is intended to give an appreciation of the role and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals, to ensure continuity of delivery of the overall business objectives.

Hours of Work: The core hours are 37:30 per week, Monday to Thursday 08:15 to 16:30, Friday 08:15 to 15:15, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day. It may be necessary to work outside your core hours to meet business needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering/Building Services.
  • Experience of and/or recognised qualification in HVAC project management.
  • Current valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Knowledge of the ‘Construction (Design and Management) Regulation’.
  • An understanding of contract law and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Good understanding of HVAC systems and design.
  • Experience of working with AutoCAD in the HVAC industry.
  • Good understanding of the products and services the company offer.
  • Good administrative and IT skills including full working knowledge of Microsoft packages and other standard office software and equipment.
