Holdsworth Foods is one of the UK’s largest independent foodservice distributors. We have a real passion for what we do and our business is built on the quality of service we provide. We are looking for a Goods In Operative to work at our Chesterfield Depot with the primary role to put away goods as received. We offer our customers a wide range of food products and this role will support in making sure our customers get the products they want on time. If successful, you will be joining an established hard working and loyal team. The hours of work for Goods In Operative are Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 3.00pm. As well as a competitive rate of pay, the role offers a weekly bonus (subject to terms and conditions). You will be required to drive a fork-lift truck but training will be provided if required. The successful candidate must be prepared to work in a coldstore environment.

Responsibilities:

  • To be familiar with and able to identify the products stocked.
  • To have a good working knowledge of the set-up of the warehouse and of the correct storage areas of all the various items stocked.
  • To put away goods received.
  • To fill the rollers/shelves with stock ready for the Despatch shift.
  • To use the ladders and harnesses when working off ground level.
  • To use pallet trucks/fork truck in a safe manner, and only if valid certification for the machine is held.
  • To report any handling equipment faults immediately to the Department Manager or his/her Deputy.
  • To check dates and rotate stock.
  • To put away drivers' returns.
  • To keep all exits clear.
  • To keep the warehouse clean and tidy at all times.
  • To assist with other duties when requested to do so by senior management.
