At Theatre Royal Drury Lane we are looking for F&BAssistants to provide general support within the food and beverage department, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience for our guests.

This dynamic role involves working across all parts of the Lane destination venues, with responsibilities that are wide and varied, ensuring no two days are the same.

From collaborating closely with our Waiting and Bar Teams in the Grand Saloon and Cecil Beaton Bar to deliver exceptional food and drink service, setting up and servicing meetings and events and handling administrative tasks.

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic profile to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong customer service orientation.

What you will be doing…

Food and Drink Service

  • Deliver the highest standards of quality, providing charismatic, warm and engaging service.
  • Greet guests and seat them at their tables.
  • Take orders, deliver food and drinks, and clear tables in the Cecil Beaton Bar, Grand Saloon, and Terrace.
  • Prepare and serve cold drinks and snacks in the bars.
  • Provide barista service.

Meetings and Events

  • Assist with setting up events rooms with the required furniture and equipment configuration. Liaise with Venue Technicians to ensure the correct AV equipment is in place.
  • Work at events, hosting and directing guests, assisting with the service of food and drinks, prepare, serve, and replenish refreshments according to the meeting specifications.
  • Monitor ongoing meetings and be available for any additional requests from the hirer.
  • Show potential bookers around spaces as required by Venue Management.

Oversight of Venue

  • Act as hosts during non-show hours, greeting guests as they arrive at the venue and directing them around the building.
  • Monitor and maintain the presentation of the venue, ensuring all public areas are looking their best at all times.
  • Work closely with the Tours Team to coordinate and direct guests for the start of tours.
  • Facilitate the sales of house merchandise and provide up-to-date stock and sales data to Venue Management.

Health and Safety

  • Complete and record compliance checks as required.
  • Train in and implement company emergency response plans and procedures, including fire, evacuation, and security situations.
  • Train in First Aid at Work as required.
  • What we need…
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality or events industry.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Confident using EPOS systems.
  • First Aid at Work certification is desirable.
  • Fixed term contract: September 2026 - January 2027
  • Part time: 20 hours per week
