Description We are looking for a Relief Driver/Warehouse Operative to work at our Chesterfield Depot with the primary role to prepare and pack orders ready for delivery and to act as a Delivery Driver when required to provide relief for staff absence.
If successful, you will be joining an established hard working and loyal team.
The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 5.30pm to 1.30am.
As well as a competitive rate of pay, the role offers a weekly bonus (subject to terms and conditions).
You will be required to drive a fork-lift truck but training will be provided if required.
You must be prepared to work in a Cold store environment.
Responsibilities may include
- To be familiar with and able to identify the products stocked.
- To have a good working knowledge of the set-up of the warehouse and of the correct storage areas of all the various items stocked.
- To pick orders as required from picking sheets with attention to product and quantities,
- To face labels outwards for double checking purposes.
- To undertake driving duties as and when required.
- To use the ladders and harnesses when working off ground level.
- To use pallet trucks/fork truck in a safe manner, and only if valid certification for the machine is held.
- To report any handling equipment faults immediately to the Department Manager or his/her Deputy.
- To check dates and rotate stock.
- To keep all exits clear.
- To keep the warehouse clean and tidy at all times.
- To assist with other duties when requested to do so by senior management.
