In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Specialist training will be provided where needed to develop your existing skills.

Who will you be working for? NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, providing specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages, and a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale.

What candidate are we looking for?

  • Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer role
  • Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry (not essential)
  • Municipal experience including working on Refuse trucks/RCVs is a plus
  • HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
  • Class 2 licence preferred
  • Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices

What will be your duties?

  • Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers' vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
  • Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
  • Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
