In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. What candidate are we looking for?

  • Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Engineer/ HGV Mechanic/ Mobile HGV Technician role (essential)
  • HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent (preferred but time-served experience will also be considered)
  • Previous experience working with auxiliary equipment advantageous
  • Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous
  • Class 1 or Class 2 licence preferred
  • Excellent customer service and a great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative

What will be your duties?

  • Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers' vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
  • Working on HGVs, and equipment from manufacturers including Mercedes, Dennis Eagle, DAF, Isuzu and Terberg
  • Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
  • Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
