About the Role
This is a people-focused role for someone who enjoys juggling tasks, solving problems, and building strong customer relationships. As a Hire Controller, you’ll be the friendly first point of contact for our customers, helping them source the right equipment and ensuring everything runs smoothly from enquiry to off-hire. From managing bookings and contracts to coordinating with drivers and depot teams, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running like clockwork — and our customers coming back for more.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing hire enquiries via phone, email, and our internal systems
- Acting as a trusted, approachable point of contact for customers
- Preparing and maintaining accurate hire contracts and documentation
- Building strong relationships and really understanding customer requirements
- Keeping customers updated and resolving issues quickly and professionally
- Working closely with drivers, depot, sales, and operations teams
- Developing strong product knowledge to recommend the right solution every time
- Supporting the sales team and their customers when required
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years’ experience in a hire desk or customer service environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven role
- A confident communicator, both on the phone and in writing
- Highly organised with great attention to detail
- A genuine team player who enjoys collaborating across departments
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and happy to roll up their sleeves
- Strong IT skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
