Area: N8 – Hornsey / Church End

Hours: Full time 8am – 6pm – Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with setting up the lunch area, including laying out tables, chairs, and utensils.
  • Helping children wash their hands before eating.
  • Supervising children during mealtimes, ensuring they eat safely and appropriately.
  • Encouraging children to try new foods and eat healthy portions.
  • Helping younger children cut up their food as needed.
  • Clearing away dishes and cleaning up spills after lunch.
  • Engaging with children through conversation and play during lunchtime.
  • Helping children resolve conflicts peacefully.
  • Keeping an eye on children’s safety and wellbeing throughout the lunch period.
  • Reporting any concerns about a child’s health or behaviour to a qualified nursery staff member.
  • Depending on the nursery, you might also be involved in helping children change their clothes after lunch or preparing them for nap time.
  • You might be asked to assist with tidying up the play area or other nursery duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 CACHE or NVQ in Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children in an early year setting
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
