Job Purpose: To plan and specify maintenance work, in accordance with engineering standards and SABIC workflow processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise, diagnose equipment malfunction and identify appropriate actions, in order that EHSS & Production risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Identify and optimise maintenance interventions and ensure that sufficient time is available for planning and resourcing of work, in order that such interventions are delivered optimally.
  • Provide detailed scope and specification including supporting documentation where appropriate, in order to allow the work delivery teams to provide competent cost-effective delivery of the work.
  • Collate and analyse equipment reliability and maintenance expenditure data in order to help identify improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

  • The role will involve the use of SAP, DRS, Sabic Inspection Database and other computer-based systems and therefore a good level of IT literacy is required.
  • The successful applicant will have a broad background in maintenance and engineering, with prior experience working on COMAH-registered plants, possibly as a technician or FLM and ideally hold a HNC or equivalent qualification and be working towards Incorporated Engineer status with an appropriate Professional Engineering Institution.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role and environment will also be considered.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate sound decision-making and excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, as many of the job accountabilities are achieved through the influencing of others.
  • A sound understanding of Rotating Machinery and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations would be beneficial.
