Job Purpose: The overall purpose of the role is to support the Finance Manager and Senior Management Accountant in all accounting matters in the Quintain Living finance team, ensuring controls are maintained, completeness of results, and business partnering the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • In collaboration with Group Finance, serve as the primary point of contact in responding to all internal and external audit queries, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented responses.
  • Work with the Finance Manager and Senior Management Accountant to ensure balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany, are kept up to date, with timely resolution of queries.
  • Drive improvement of accounting processes, eliminating inefficiencies and enhancing internal controls to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and overall financial integrity.
  • Support user acceptance testing and issue resolution during software implementation.
  • Perform month-end close activities where necessary.

General Accountabilities:

  • Undertake additional relevant duties as directed by your Manager, raising any issues with capacity for proper management.
  • Participate in the full year and half-year Performance Development Review process as reviewer and reviewee, meeting the standards and timescales required by the Company.
  • Ensure that your understanding and skill level regarding the Company’s IT systems are up to date, undertaking IT training as required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to and align actions with the Company’s values.
  • Work within the Company’s policies and procedures, governance framework, and standards.
  • Remain knowledgeable about Group activities, acting as a positive ambassador for the Company at all times.
  • Use materials and resources effectively and efficiently to minimise waste, considering the impact of potential actions alongside our Sustainability policies and goals.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA with post-qualified experience in similar roles.
  • Experience of business partnering.
  • A strong desire to take responsibility and ‘own’ your work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced commercial environment with significant growth.
  • IT literate with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience supporting systems changes would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Access Dimensions, and Yardi would be an advantage.
