This is a BRAND-NEW private day nursery due to open September 2026. This is a Montessori setting that caters to 120 children, and we require a Montessori trained manager. This will be the 4th site opening by the organization that already has 3 sites in East London since 1991.
Salary up to: £48,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Plan and launch your new nursery
- Ensure compliance whilst adding value to children, parents and team
- Manage and coach a large team
- Deliver on the job training, guidance and support to the team
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with parents
- Be responsible for all planning and logistics, running the nursery routine, managing sufficient ratios and rotas
- Risk assess the nursery through the day, every day, and action; maintaining and critically assessing all policies, procedures and practice to drive improvements
- To effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention, providing day to day guidance, training and support to all staff
- To ensure all policies, procedures and curriculums are implemented and adhered to at all times
- To effectively manage the budgets and occupancy levels
- To implement an effective parent liaison program, to be influential in developing strong links with parents
- To manage all day to day operations of the nursery
- Work occasional weekends for local marketing and experiential events to support the nursery launch
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- Hold a Montessori diploma
- At least 2 recent years' experience as nursery manager
- Able to lead and manage professional childcare teams, to deliver high standards and results
- Knowledge of Record Keeping and Key Worker Systems
- A rigorous understanding of the EYFS and the ability to fully implement all of its requirements
- A clear understanding of Ofsted's requirements and current legislation
- Adaptable - able to work hands on and in an office setting
- Ability to write clear reports and communicate clearly in spoken and written form
- The successful candidate must have a proven track record in Nursery Management and with strong leadership skills
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- Must hold a Montessori Diploma
